Pinot Noirs of the World with Dr Graham Harding

Join us for a real treat – an exploration of the complexities and expressions of the most expressive of all grapes with Dr Graham Harding!

Dr Graham Harding returned to academic life after 25 years as brand consultant, market researcher and occasional author to do his DPhil on the history of Champagne in the UK.

Dr Harding is an associate of the History Faculty at Oxford and has the very enviable job of being the Wine Steward of St Cross College.

He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Pinot Noir Project and was the lead organiser of an international Pinot Noir Symposium in Oxford in 2025.

He is the author of a successful general book on wine and published a monograph on the history of champagne in Britain, winning the 2022 OIV AWARD in the history category for his book. He holds the WSET Diploma in Wines and Spirits.

Blind Tasting Masterclass with Jackie Ang MW

Join us for a very informative blind tasting masterclass with Jackie Ang MW!

Jackie Ang is a trained pharmaceutical scientist and a wine educator. He is born and based in Singapore and holds a DPhil in Medical Sciences from the University of Oxford and a MA in Pharmacology from the University of Cambridge. Jackie is currently the Director of Cherwell Wine and Spirits, a WSET APP based in Singapore and also heads the High Throughput Screening group at the Experimental Drug Development Centre, a national platform for drug discovery in Singapore. He has over 10 years of experience in holding wine events, masterclasses, teaching and wine judging. Jackie is most passionate and interested in uplifting standards in wine knowledge and service in Asia and acting as a bridge between producers and consumers from different cultures and backgrounds.

Varsity Bootcamp with Pol Roger

Pol Roger are the sponsors of our annual Varsity match against Cambridge, and next Tuesday they are kindly coming to tell us all about the match. This is an essential tasting for those who are interested in competing this year, but even for those who aren’t it should be an exciting chance to learn exactly how wine competitions work. In previous years we have been treated to some really exceptional wines at these tastings but, in keeping with varsity format, we don’t know what we will be tasting this time!

Do note that the tasting starts at 6 pm.
